The Kite Runner #1

Amir the main character seems very suspicious. He left me wondering about what exactly went on in that mysterious year of 1975. So far he doesnt give any clues. The other thing that left me puzzeled as well was when he started talking about the kites, and how they reminded him of his friend Hassan becasuse of his lip. What does a kite have to do with his friends lip? Maybe it could symbolize his friend Hassans freedom. This passage left me wondering.
