By the looks of it Janie was once married, her husband died. He didnt leave her like those other women say he did and she has come back because she was not happy in the place she lived. It confuses me how she came back in a pair of dirty overalls as though she has not taken a shower. This chapters brings a lot of questions to my head. Why would she come back to a town were women are talking bad about her? What happened to Tea cake? Why is Phoebe so nice to her? What and where are the Everglades, and how did she end up there?
