Ch. 7 has got to be my favorite chapter so far. It made me extremely happy when Janie had the courage to talk back to Jody, after all of those years of silence, of neglect. This shows that Janie still has that fighting spark inside of her, a side that she hasnt shown in a while! She's already forty so time passed by really quick! My favorite was passage was....." Humph! Talkin' 'bout me lookin' old! When you pull down yo' britches, you look lak de change uh life." pg. 79. When Janie chose to talk back to Jody this started a new change in her life, hope that the old fun and energetic Janie can come back . She made fun of him infront of people of the town, humiliating him with the subject that most men are sensitive about! GOOOO JANIE!!! she really nailed it with this one.
